What really fits into one day
Some of Seville’s monuments can fill a morning on their own. So a well-spent day is not about going inside all of them, but about choosing two or three major places, understanding how they relate and leaving time to walk, eat without hurrying and watch the light change.
A typical day combines the monumental core — Alcázar, Cathedral and Santa Cruz — with a more open second half: Plaza de España, the river or Triana. What goes in and what stays out depends on your interests, available tickets and the time of year.
A morning and afternoon plan
This is one way to shape the day. It is a starting point: María adjusts it to your group.
Morning: the monumental heart
The first hours are best for interiors and for avoiding the heat. Time for the Alcázar or the Cathedral, with an explanation that links the two, and a walk through Santa Cruz afterwards.

Midday: a proper break
A relaxed lunch is part of the trip. A long midday break, especially from May to September, means the afternoon is enjoyed rather than endured.
Afternoon: squares, river or neighbourhood
With the sun lower, Plaza de España and María Luisa Park, the riverside or a walk across to Triana show a different, more open and everyday side of the city.

What to prioritise, depending on your interests
| If you like… | Spend more time on | May be left out |
|---|---|---|
| Art and history | The Cathedral and Alcázar interiors | Part of the afternoon walk |
| Neighbourhoods and local life | Santa Cruz and Triana | Long interior visits |
| Photography | Plaza de España and the river at sunset | Interiors at midday |
| A first visit | The monumental core, with context | Very specialised corners |

- May to SeptemberDo the most demanding part in the morning and keep midday for lunch and rest.
